What cookies and browser storage this website uses, and how you can control them.

What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way, letting a site remember small pieces of information on your device between visits.
Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we only use non-essential cookies or storage if you agree to them.
What this site uses
We use one strictly necessary item to remember your cookie choice, and Microsoft Clarity analytics, which only loads if you click Accept. Clarity helps us understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are viewed and where people click) so we can improve it. It is set up with advertising storage denied. If you click Decline, or haven't chosen yet, Clarity does not load and none of its cookies are set.
| Cookie / storage name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
hound-on-heart-cookie-consent | Hound on Heart Dog Training (this website) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, with the date you chose | Strictly necessary (local storage) | Until you clear your browser storage |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Keeps a Clarity user ID and preferences, unique to this site | Analytics (only with consent) | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects multiple page views by one visitor into a single session recording | Analytics (only with consent) | 1 day |
CLID | Microsoft Clarity | Identifies the first time Clarity saw this visitor on any site using Clarity | Analytics (only with consent) | 1 year |
MUID | Microsoft | Identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites | Analytics (only with consent) | 1 year |
ANONCHK | Microsoft | Indicates whether MUID is transferred to ANID | Analytics (only with consent) | 10 minutes |
SM | Microsoft | Used to synchronise the MUID across Microsoft domains | Analytics (only with consent) | Session |
Microsoft's own privacy statement explains how Clarity handles data: privacy.microsoft.com. If we add any other analytics or marketing tools in future, we will list them here, and they will also only run after you click Accept.
Embedded content and links
Our training videos are hosted on this website, not on YouTube or other platforms, so they set no third-party cookies. Links to Instagram and Facebook take you to those sites, where their own cookie policies apply.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the footer of any page. This reopens the banner so you can accept or decline again. Declining after accepting stops Clarity from running on your next page load.
